Muhammad Ali
View the interactive →

In anticipation of the 50th anniversary of Muhammad Ali's gold-medal performance in the 1960 Olympics, we did a video series on the life and legacy of Ali, as well as a special print edition, including an exclusive essay from President Barack Obama on what Ali has meant to him.

As we've finally transitioned over to Brightcove for video, this piece was done purely through standards-based HTML, CSS, and Javascript, with a small, hand-brewed jQuery script I wrote to cycle through the quotes and an embedded Brightcove player.

This is the beginning of what I hope will be more interactives built without Flash.

Written in HTML, CSS (with some CSS3 text-shadow), Javascript (jQuery).
